In class we talked about vocabulary and evaluating websites.
Your homework is to go to an English-language NEWS website. Find an article. Write 2 paragraphs.
Paragraph 1 will be about how you evaluated the website. Remember the three categories to examine on a website: (1) Determining page authorship, (2) Checking the vital information, and (3) Checking the content.
Paragraph 2 will be about how you used SQ4R to read the news article. For example, tell me WHAT it is you surveyed, WHAT questions you asked, WHAT were the answers to the questions, and WHAT were your conclusions.
Make sure you include your name, the title of the article, and the website the article is from.
Some websites you could visit are the following:
aljazeera.com
france25.com/en
independent.co.uk
npr.org
theguardian.com
usatoday.com
slate.com
news.bbc.co.uk
washingtonpost.com
reuters.com
cnn.com
foxnews.com
If you are not able to access the internet, I have put some print outs in the copy room, however, I prefer you to do this online, if at all possible.
